If you are in a position to be able to travel, go for it! To travel the world provides you with a deep insight and understanding of our world. It is something that can't be taught at school or university. It opens ones eyes to the amazing fact of how similar we all are!

I focus on all the favorite cities, countries and continents. You are welcome to leave comments or provide tips for fellow travelers.

To end of this first post I want to emphasize the following quote from J.R.R. Tolkien, who wrote "Lord of the Rings"

“Not all those who wander are lost.” 

This is so true when it comes to backpackers. We wander, but we are not lost!!!

Is Egypt safe to visit in 2022?

I've visited Egypt a couple of times and has an intense love affair with this country that has bestowed the world with a wealth of mystery and suspense. Travelling in Egypt is an adventure on its own. I did not backpack in Egypt and possibly wouldn't advise that, in the current political situation. I however don't see any problem with booking a place on an organised tour. The tour operators are up to date with the current situation on the ground in Egypt and they will advise of any risks. My Visit to the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn, South Africa

The Cango Caves are located in Precambrian limestones in the Swartberg mountains close to the town of Oudtshoorn, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The cave is a popular tourist attraction with many visitors from overseas visiting it every year . I visited the town and the caves a while ago and here is my photo record of what I saw inside the caves. What a stunning experience!
